A. Completed Projects
Our completed projects reflect the power of collaboration and community-driven change, laying a strong foundation for sustainable development in Chitimba.
1. HAJIMAC Academy Primary School
Funded by the High Five Club, UK, HAJIMAC (derived from Happy Jill Mama's Care) is a primary school that includes a two-classroom school block with 40 locally made 3-seater desks, blackboards, and teacher stations; a toilet block with two rooms for girls and two for boys; and additional furniture for teachers. Serving 75 students, HAJIMAC Academy fosters literacy and opportunity, guided by our motto: "Building a Better Foundation for the Kids."
2. Happy Jill Mama's Care Nursery School
Supported by Cheryl and the High Five Club, Happy Jill Mama's Care is a dedicated nursery school providing early education for Chitimba’s youngest learners. It lays the groundwork for lifelong learning, aligned with our motto: "Building a Better Foundation for the Kids."
3. Tiny Forest Project
A pilot reforestation initiative funded by the High Five Club, promoting environmental sustainability with a biodiverse forest offering shade, medicinal plants, fruits, and educational opportunities.
4. Chitimba Community Library Project
Funded by Lesley Curtis and the R World Foundation, this library includes a fully constructed building, 2,000 books, 6 computers, chairs, and benches, bringing vital learning resources to students and community members. R World also built a stores building to securely store materials used during the library’s construction, ensuring the safety and organization of resources as part of a pre-planned strategy.
B. Ongoing Projects

1. Kindergarten Completion (Happy Jill Mama's Care)
Needs: Cement for plastering and flooring in two rooms, children’s chairs, play materials, a playground, and electrical wiring for both nursery and primary school blocks.
Goal: Create a fully equipped early learning environment for young children.
2. Tiny Forest Expansion
Needs: Continued support for the pilot tree-planting project.
Goal: Scale up reforestation and environmental education.
3. Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children
Needs: Ongoing supply of food and school resources.
Goal: Ensure access to education and necessities.
4. Staff Salaries
Needs: Funding to sustain teacher and staff salaries.
Goal: Maintain a dedicated team for quality education.
5. Higher Education Support
Needs: Scholarships for secondary and university students.
Goal: Empower youth to pursue advanced education.
These initiatives are in the planning stage, poised to further transform Chitimba with innovative, community-focused solutions.
1. BMF Office Site and Construction: A central headquarters to streamline operations and enhance coordination.
2. Bee-Keeping Project: A sustainable income-generating initiative to support community development.
3. Hostel Construction: Safe accommodations to reduce travel barriers and improve access to education.
4. Additional School Block Construction: Expanded facilities to accommodate more students and grades.
5. Teachers’ Housing: Residences to attract and retain qualified educators.
6. Kitchen Facility: A dedicated space to provide nutritious meals for students, supporting health and learning.
7. School Fence: A secure perimeter to protect students and school property.
8. School Hall: A multipurpose hall for examinations, school assemblies, and community gatherings, enabling efficient supervision and fostering unity.
9. Wildlife Conservation Project: A large-scale initiative to promote environmental stewardship through:
- Community campaigns to prevent stone removal in hilly areas, reducing soil erosion.
- Reforestation efforts to restore and conserve natural habitats.
- Education to sensitize villagers on preserving nature for sustainable living.
10. Transportation: School buses and project vehicles to:
- Safely transport vulnerable children who travel long distances to school, replacing past reliance on bicycles.
- Support educational trips and project logistics, enhancing learning opportunities.
11. Agricultural Equipment: Investment in modern farming machinery to scale up agribusiness, enabling:
- Self-reliance in food production to sustainably feed students and the community.
- Reduced dependence on donations through a thriving agricultural enterprise.
