Community Projects

Brown Munthali was born in Chitimba on the northern shores of Lake Malawi. After graduating in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering, Brown saw there was a need in the community to support vulnerable children and orphans.
The Brown Munthali Foundation carries out charitable work developing the community of Chitimba. The foundation support orphans and other vulnerable children such as those from broken families through the creation of pre-schools, orphanages and rescue centres. There is also a key focus on female empowerment where support is provided for schooling and community mobilisation through entrepreneurship
  • Women empowerment
By giving them small loans to help in doing business so that they can be destructed for their behavior of relying to get money from selling their bodies to men for their survival and well caring for their kids who are suffering due to broken families. We set up some groups like the Nombo and Nkhwazi groups. Each has five women.

Men Empowerment through Beekeeping Initiatives

Men empowerment involves creating sustainable income-generating opportunities that uplift men economically, socially, and emotionally within their communities. One effective approach is the formation of beekeeping clubs in various communities. These clubs bring together men to share knowledge, resources, and skills related to modern beekeeping practices.

Through these clubs, members are trained in the management of beehives, honey extraction, packaging, and marketing strategies. Beekeeping not only promotes teamwork and a sense of purpose, but it also serves as a reliable source of income. The honey produced is harvested, processed, and sold in local and regional markets, generating revenue for the individuals and their families.

Additionally, this initiative contributes to environmental conservation and food security, as bees play a crucial role in pollination. Overall, this empowerment strategy helps reduce poverty, encourages entrepreneurship, and strengthens the economic position of men in their communities.
